Throughout the years, I have seen a huge number of web hosting companies come and go. It is pretty sad to see some of them brighted eyed start ups with lots of ambitions and drive failed and closed down. For those who are comtemplating setting up a web hosting company now , I would strongly advise you to search for a niche you are comfortable with. Never , never compete on pricing. Those giants from USA have massive scale of economy that web hosting companies in Singapore, especially with servers hosted in Singapore can never match. I mean you can match their pricing and features, but you will go down the drain soon.


So is it really a dead end industry? I do not think so, what is most important is to establish your unique selling point and recognise your limitations and your market segment.
